On 14 November Mr Maciej Janczak met with Svitlana Ostapa, Head of the Supervisory Board of the Public Broadcasting company of Ukraine, and Mykola Chernotytskyi, Head of the Managing Board of the Public Broadcasting company of Ukraine.
Mr Janczak thanked Suspilne for the important work of their team, which they continue to perform every day, despite the challenges that the Public Broadcaster has faced since the start of the Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, including physical threats to their employees and attacks on its infrastructure.
Maciej Janczak noted that the long-standing cooperation of the Council of Europe with the Suspilne will continue.
The Head of the Office pointed out that he knows about the Suspilne's problems, particularly those related to financing not only from the report of European Commission, and is aware of the challenges facing the broadcaster and journalists in Russian aggression. Mr Janczak assured that the Council of Europe Office understands the situation's complexity and is ready to provide its support within the framework of the Council of Europe project "Safeguarding Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Media in Ukraine".
Maciej Janczak gave an interview to Суспільне Новинам, during which he told about the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” for the period of 2023-2026, priorities of the 4th Council of Europe Summit in Reykjavik , and current projects if the Office.
