In September 2024, national experts Yulia Paskevska and Yevhen Ivashev began monitoring visits to penitentiary institutions as part of the piloting of the Program for the Provision of Psychological and Psychosocial Support to Prisoners. This program is an outgrowth of the Council of Europe Project “Towards more humane conditions of detention and reduction of reoffending in Ukraine (DECOPRIS)” and is aimed at supporting prisoners, in particular those at risk of suicide and self-harm.
