Online seminar “Responding to Disinformation: European Practices and Standards”

On 16-17 February, an online seminar will be held to discuss best European practices and standards of tackling disinformation and share this knowledge with Ukrainian stakeholders.

International experts will present examples of state policy, legislative, and strategic responses to disinformation in traditional and new media. Moreover, experts will provide the EU's strategic approach, Council of Europe standards and European countries' responses to combating disinformation. Also, representatives of online platforms, civil society, public service broadcasters and governments will present their anti-disinformation practices.

The event is organised by the project “European Union and Council of Europe working together to support freedom of media in Ukraine” in co-operation with the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

The need for developing a comprehensive and thorough approach to countering disinformation in Ukraine taking into account the Council of Europe standards and experiences of the EU countries is still of vital importance.
