The Main Investigative Division of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) gathered 125 colleagues from institution’s investigative units for the scientific and practical seminar “Scene inspection during investigation of criminal offenses committed as a result of the Russian Federation's aggressive war against Ukraine”.

Inspection of residential areas, objects of civil infrastructure, as well as certain aspects of forensic examinations’ appointment and conducting were on seminar’s agenda. Participants discussed the range of procedural and practical opportunities that they have at their disposal, exchanged opinions and experiences with regard to urgent and problematic issues in the context of investigation of criminal cases of such category. Online-participants joined the Q&A session though seminar’s chat-room.

Apart from SBI investigators, representatives of the laboratories of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, forensic experts, Council of Europe expert on criminalistics took part in the seminar.

The event was held with expert support from the Council of Europe project “Supporting Institutions to Combat Ill-Treatment in Ukraine Phase II”.
