The project "Supporting the reform of the national minority legal framework and the resilience of national minorities and Roma in Ukraine" has provided essential equipment to support the State Service of Ukraine on Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience (DESS). The support included laptops, printers and portable charging stations, aimed at enhancing the institution’s operational efficiency.

"The Council of Europe's support to the DESS is an important element in strengthening institutional capacity to develop a legislative framework and policy for the protection of the rights of national minorities," - said Viktor Yelenskyi, Head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Affairs and Freedom of Conscience.

The Council of Europe remains committed to assisting its national partners in strengthening technical capacities essential for safeguarding the rights and freedoms of national minorities in Ukraine.

This initiative is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine "Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction" 2023-2026.
