On December 14, 2016, the Council of Europe* in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, Civil Network “OPORA” organises a conference on “Electoral violations and accountability: challenges and possible solutions”.
The aim of the conference is to assess the effectiveness of existing accountability mechanisms for electoral violations within the framework of criminal proceedings upon the results of 2015 local elections in Ukraine, as well as to discuss and draft a roadmap for further improvement of the accountability mechanisms.
Representatives of the Ministry of Interior of Ukraine, Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, regional law-enforcement authorities, Central Election Commission of Ukraine, judiciary, parliamentarians, civil society organizations, and experts are invited to take part in this conference.
The event will take place at “President Hotel” (12, Hospitalna Street) in Kyiv.
