The Round Table on "Strengthening the Human Rights Protection of IDPs: current situation and perspectives of cooperation” was organised on the 6th of December, 2016 in Kramatorsk, Donetsk region. The activity was initiated by the Donetsk Military-civilian Regional State Administration with the support of the Council of Europe Project "Strengthening the human rights of internally displaced persons in Ukraine". The event was chaired by Mr I. Stokoza, the Deputy Governor of Donetsk Military-civilian RSA and Ms G. Khryastova, Senior Officer of the Council of Europe Project.
The event was attended by Heads of Departments and relevant Units of Donetsk Military-civilian Regional State Administration, dealing with the IDPs issues, representatives of local and international civil society and international organizations. As well, the activity was joined by the members of the Working Group on Improving National Legislation on the Protection of the Human Rights of Internally Displaced Persons of the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons of Ukraine (further – the WG of the Ministry of ToT and IDPs).
The round table aimed at present developments of the Working Group of the Ministry of ToT and IDPs and their main priorities for the next year. The event served as a platform for dialogue between the government and the public representatives of both central and regional levels. As well as it helped to create a momentum for discussion and transmission relevant developments and recommendations from regional level to the central with a help of Working Groups members.
