The Autobiography of Intercultural Encounters is a Council of Europe cross-sectoral initiative that involved experts in the fields of language education, inter-religious dialogue and citizenship education.

The aim was to develop a tool to help adults and young people reflect upon and learn from their intercultural experiences based on encounters with different social groups (religious, ethnic, linguistic, etc.). 

Work started in 2006 and over time further versions and modules for teachers were developed.
