This resource promotes empathy, equality, respect for students and addresses discrimination, prejudices and inequalities from teachers towards their students. It addresses the general topics of social exclusion and possible future segregation resulting from teacher behaviour.
Teachers and trainers participating in the unit will have an opportunity to reflect on and evaluate their own teaching practise in terms of its compliance with democratic principles.
The materials used in this unit will allow participants to develop empathy with a discriminated person, tolerance towards a diversity of students’ personalities as well as discuss the role and relevance of empathy and equity among the participants. This resource can be used in training for teachers as well as in the education of future teachers in all levels of education.
