The aim of this Pestalozzi training unit is to raise teacher awareness of the potential of evaluation and assessment in improving rapport, motivation, empathy, equity, participation and self-knowledge in all participants in the learning process, as well as its potential to harm, discriminate, demotivate and alienate learners. Therefore, by introducing transversal attitudes, skills and knowledge as a framework, this training unit endeavors to strengthen teachers’ theoretical and practical skills for avoiding the pitfalls of evaluation and assessment while increasing the learners’ motivation, confidence, transparency and effectiveness in the learning process, as well as their own.
