Back Gender equality in the human rights framework

The training unit (TU), developed in the Pestalozzi Programme in the Education for the prevention of discrimination (DISC) module, consists of five activities, including an assessment session for initial and in-service training.

The TU mainly focuses on discrimination against women and gender equality within the Human Rights Framework, by substantiating the rights of women within the human rights system. It looks at: eliminating stereotype thinking that "women are in certain social groups”; equality of men and women while accounting for their peculiarities and uniqueness; stereotyping through false perceptions about femininity and masculinity, as well as obstacles to internal human expression.

In this TU participants will be shown how gender stereotypes are reflected differently in the lives and activities of both sexes, and how they limit opportunities for self-expression and the expression of emotions through role playing, brainstorming and collaborative learning methods.
