Back Handling misused words in sex and sexuality education

This training unit is developed in order to help teachers find the positive meaning and appropriate use of vocabulary related to gender, sex and sexuality at school.

In their participation in the activities, participants will understand how to deal with offensive and discriminatory discourse in a classroom and to look at the misused words in a different light.

The training unit enhances the abilities of participants to address difficult and controversial topics regarding sexuality in a classroom and to address them in a more neutral way.

The training unit contains activities such as cooperative group work, role play, group discussion, brain storming, pair work and discussions.

The resource is designed for in-service and pre-service primary school teachers.
