This resource supports learners acquiring attitudes, values and skills necessary to deal with different world views and opinions both within and beyond the classroom. It enables students to change perspective, to raise their awareness of a diversity of perspectives which are neither right or wrong, to value cultural diversity, openness to cultural otherness and other beliefs and worldviews.
The unit offers activities that can be used in the classroom, including individual and group work activities, think-pair-share activities, creative methods, gallery walks and rotating reviews. It can be used with small and large groups, ideally with 24 participants (or 36 alternatively) and could best be implemented with two separate work rooms. It requires learners to talk and listen to each other, to reflect on their own and on others’ perspective and provide respectful and founded feedback and opinions to each other.
