This resource develops teachers’ attitudes, skills and knowledge in how to establish a task-involving, motivational climate in their classes/sessions. Participants have the opportunity to explore the connection between the quality of Human Rights education and the creation of a motivational climate. The training resource assists learners in deepening their knowledge, regarding the concept of motivational climate and Human Rights, while experimenting with different types of motivational climate concepts and related efficient methods. They learn how to develop task-involving, motivational climates in physical education and sports in order to promote physically active lifestyles and Human Rights values at the same time. Participants are also involved in practising cooperative learning structures to become familiar with how they can contribute to the implementation of a motivational climate in a classroom.
This training unit can be used by in-service teachers and trainers of Physical Education. It includes methods and activities such as cooperative learning, group discussion and tasks for discussion and reflection.
