This resource focuses on teachers’ values and attitudes towards their role in the education of democratic competences. It introduces key competences for professional as well as democratic teaching and trains educational professionals to use the Competence Model in their own teaching.
In addition, the resource contains activities on how to implement change in democratic classrooms and artistic activities for thinking about the role of educators and the respective motivation of teachers. The Model of Competencies for Democracy is introduced, analysed and encouraged to be used for further professional development by the individual teachers.
The resource can be used in teacher training and further professional training of teachers of different subject areas within the context of democratic education in the modern classroom. The activities of the resource are based on the cooperative learning and learning by doing methodologies.
