The training unit (TU) consists of three activities, including an assessment session for initial and in-service training.
The first activity acts as an ice-breaker in which the participants start to get used to role-play situations and drama techniques. The second activity gets the participants thinking about their own idea of teaching and gives them the opportunity to find out about other styles, and how their students might feel about these. The last, third, activity the participants think about realistic solutions to prevent discrimination in class, and also learn about a possible solution proposed by the trainer.
The TU is implemented through collaborative methods in the class by using role-play, hot seating, debate, individual tasks, table-filling group work, alternative teaching group work, window, brainstorming and poster methods.
