This unit, developed within the Pestalozzi Programme, proposes various activities through which teachers may acquire knowledge on the diversity of world views and world knowledge to achieve a better understanding of how past events, people and places influence their world views. The unit engages teachers in reflection on the challenges of the diversity of world views in the classroom and on the need to change attitudes by creating an open learning environment. It challenges teachers to consider the issues of diversity, stereotypes, tolerance and prejudice within the context of human rights.
The unit can be used at initial and in-service training of teachers of Secondary education.
