On 3 April, the Division on Migration and Refugees (DMR) participated in a webinar on university education, vocational training and migrant students, organised by the Committee on Migration Issues of the Council of Europe Conference of INGOs.

The webinar provided an opportunity to engage with stakeholders and discuss various aspects of welcoming migrant students into university education and vocational training, including reception, and the validation of skills and courses available to migrants.

In its recommendation CONF-AG(2023)REC2: for a Global Approach of the Rights of Refugees and Migrants and the Role of Civil Society, the Conference of INGOs emphasised the importance of guaranteeing fundamental rights for migrants, such as the right to health, security and education.

This was the first discussion in a three-part webinar series on migrant education organised by the Committee on Migration Issues.
