Vello Pettai is Director of the European Centre for Minority Issues since March 2020. Prior to that he was Professor for Comparative Politics at the University of Tartu, where he taught ethnic politics and nationalism. Prof. Pettai has also served as Advisor to the President of Estonia on minority affairs and was Convenor of the Minorities Roundtable in Estonia.
