Within the framework of its 6th round of mutual evaluations, the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on the Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures and the Financing of Terrorism (MONEYVAL) organised a face-to-face meeting between the assessment team and Latvian authorities, which was held from 14 to 16 April 2025 in Strasbourg, France. Latvia is the first country worldwide to undergo an assessment under the new evaluation round.
The face-to-face meeting is organised approximately two months prior to MONEYVAL’s 69th plenary meeting, which will be held jointly with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), from 10 to 13 June 2025 in Strasbourg. The face-to-face meeting provided a final opportunity for the assessment team and the country to exchange views on the draft Mutual Evaluation Report ahead of the plenary.
