MONEYVAL has officially launched its 6th round of mutual evaluation of Albania. In this context, a high-level exchange was held, with the participation of General Director of the Albanian Financial Intelligence Agency Mr Ervin Koçi and the Chair of MONEYVAL, Mr Nicola MUCCIOLI. The intervenors stressed the importance of the assessment process and the commitment of the country’s authorities to its success.
The high-level exchange was followed by a training for the authorities and the private sector. It was aimed at familiarising all national stakeholders involved in the evaluation with the underlying standards and methodology of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) and the evaluation approach of MONEYVAL. The training was organised in Tirana and attended by more than 120 participants, including the representatives of the financial intelligence unit, law enforcement, prosecutors, judiciary, supervisors, tax and customs authority, registry of legal entities and representative of the private sector.
