The joint Council of Europe/EU project “Support for the Implementation of the Judicial Reform in Serbia” supported the preparation and printing of the yearly Bulletin of the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office. The presentation of the Bulletin was organised on Wednesday, 29 May, in Belgrade for twenty-five public prosecutors from all parts of Serbia.

The Bulletin is divided into two headings: Criminal Law and Legal Sentences. The Criminal Law heading consists of expert articles dealing with case law harmonisation issues and new dilemmas for public prosecutors, divided into topics covering material and procedural criminal law, as well as European law. Legal Sentences presented several useful decisions in criminal and misdemeanour cases as possible guidance for practicing public prosecutors.

The representatives of the Supreme Public Prosecutor’s Office presented the most interesting articles, legal sentences, and case law examples from the Bulletin covering 2023, followed by a lively debate and a series of questions from public prosecutors. Such a level of interest and engaged dialogue once more demonstrated the importance of prosecutorial case law harmonisation and the value of the yearly bulletins of the SPPO. The joint Council of Europe/EU project “Support for the Implementation of the Judicial Reform in Serbia” will continue its support for the harmonisation of legal practice in Serbia.
