Teachers combat hate speech online
Description: The project Teachers Combat Hate Speech Online! was implemented within the framework of the No Hate Speech Movement campaign at a national level in Montenegro.
The project involved six vocational schools (two schools per region – north, central, and south Montenegro) and the training course was accredited by the Centre for Vocational Education (Ministry of Education). The course was developed and accredited within the framework of the project Bookmarks – a New Tool for Combating Hate Speech Online!, funded by the European Youth Foundation. The two-day training course (with a total of 14 working hours) was implemented in six vocational high schools in Montenegro, where 20 teachers participated in each training, thus accrediting a total of 120 teachers.
The aim of the training course was to familiarise teachers with the importance of tackling hate speech in schools, followed by school-based activities, organised by accredited teachers, and reaching out to 150 students per school, with a total of 900 students. This training course was implemented by Forum MNE, in partnership with the Voluntary Club of the Grammar School ‘Slobodan Škerović’, and was supported by the European Youth Foundation.
