The 23rd edition of the University on Youth and Development, will take place from 16 to 21 September 2024 in Mollina (Spain) under the theme: #FortheCulture of Human Rights and the Rule of Law. Activity proposals are open for submission to the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe secretariat until 21 July 2024.
The University on Youth and Development (UYD) is an international youth event that brings together youth-led and youth-oriented organisations from across Europe and beyond. The event provides a unique platform for participants to run their own activities (trainings, seminars, board meetings, etc.) within a dynamic and participatory context that encourages networking, cooperation, and peer-to-peer education.
Since 2000, the UYD has served as an international hub for meetings, youth advocacy and the exchange of best practices, all designed to empower youth to become catalysts for positive change. Hundreds of young people, youth workers, decision-makers, field experts and institutional representatives come together for a week-long programme of meetings, debates, capacity-building and collaboration on youth policy issues in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The annual theme is "#ForTheCulture of Human Rights and the Rule of Law".
The annual theme provides the connecting thread for all activities held during the Summer Universities, with all participants invited to engage with it during the plenary sessions. Organisations interested in joining the 2024 edition are invited to submit their applications by 21 July at 23:59 Lisbon Time. It is essential that all applicants carefully read the theme concept and the call for activities in order to understand the practicalities and commitments involved for partners who join the partnership.
Organisations selected to run their activity within the 23rd edition of the UYD will join the partnership and collaborate with many other organisations for the success of the event and for the growth of the youth sector.
