The Government of Spain has made a voluntary contribution of forty-five thousand euros (€45,000) to support the project "HEY: Human Rights Education for Youth", of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe. As a founding member state, Spain demonstrates a continuous commitment to the mission of the North-South Centre. This new contribution reflects its support for actions to strengthen young people’s capacities to act for human rights.
This is part of Spain’s contribution amounting to one hundred fifty thousand euros (€150,000) to support the Council of Europe’s Neighbourhood Partnerships and Projects. It also includes €27,000 (twenty-seven thousand) to contribute to the partnerships with Morocco and Tunisia for the period 2022-2025, both member states of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe.
Ambassador Juan Ignacio Morro, Permanent Representative of Spain to the Council of Europe, met with Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General, on this occasion.
