Protective mechanisms addressing a single ground of discrimination, either sexism, or racism for example, can fail in addressing situations of intersectional discrimination, creating a unique situation of vulnerability for an individual and group combining, in this case, sexism and racism. Two or more grounds of discrimination cumulated creates a specific situation, that must be addressed with specific approach. Progressive cultural and social changes are the result of years of endless efforts and commitment of both individuals and organisations in raising awareness, denouncing, demanding accountability of these issues. Nevertheless, unidentified situations of vulnerability remain hidden because of their multiple components and our inability to name and address them efficiently.
