The meeting of the Executive Committee of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe took place today in a hybrid format, benefitting both a strong mobilisation of its members, as well as the participation of the Programme managers presenting the Centre’s future projects.
The Executive Committee approved the Programme of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe for the next four years.
On occasion of the meeting, the Executive Director of the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, Ambassador Afonso Malheiro, was in Strasbourg as of Wednesday. This first visit enabled several bilateral meetings with significant exchanges on the collaboration between the North-South Centre and other Council of Europe entities.
Indeed, the Executive Director had the opportunity to meet with the highest instances of the organisation, the Secretary General and the Deputy Secretary General, with the Director of the Office of the Directorate General of Programmes, the Director General of Democracy, the Director of Democratic Participation, but also with interlocutors of the quadrilogue, such as Secretary General of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities and the President of the the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations of the Council of Europe.
