#LearnersFirst - Call for participation of history students in the OHTE Annual Conference

The Observatory on History Teaching in Europe is looking for history students from member and observer states of the OHTE willing to contribute to and participate in the OHTE Annual Conference.

Ten successful candidates will be invited to Strasbourg, with full financial support, to participate in the 4th OHTE Annual Conference entitled “History in Crisis(es)?”. The applicant ranked highest will be invited to take part in discussions as part of the plenary session dealing with the question "History, a subject in danger?”

 

Conditions of participation

  • Be under 30 years old on the date of submission of the application;
  • Be a citizen of one of the member or observer states of the OHTE;
  • Be enrolled in higher education studying history;
  • Submit an essay of no more than 3 pages on the theme of the plenary session "History, a subject in danger?", in English or French. A personal reflection on the subject will be appreciated;
  • Provide a CV;
  • Excellent level of English or French (minimum C1 equivalent).

The deadline for applications is 30 June 2024, 23:59 CET. The work submitted will be assessed by the OHTE Secretariat and Scientific Advisory Council. Particular attention will be paid to the structure of the essay, and the coherence and relevance of the ideas put forward. The results will be announced in September.
