Why teach history in 2022?

Thursday 1 December 2022, 16.00-17.00

One of the main challenges today is to find multiple ways to enable people, especially young people, to acquire knowledge and skills to act as democratic citizens in diverse and rapidly changing societies. Over a great number of years, the Council of Europe has developed a set of models and methods to help teachers nourish competences for democratic culture.

The Dialogues - "Why and how to teach history in 2022?" - a question that may seem trivial at first glance, will shed light on the reasons and motivations that reinforce the need for teaching history today more than ever.
