The Ethics Charter adopted in Montenegro

The development process of the Ethics Charter was finalised on 23 April 2021 when it was adopted by the Ethics Committee. As previously reported, the working group designated by the Committee commenced the work on the charter in October 2020.

Two experts from UNESCO`s International institute for educational planning had several remote meetings and exchanges with the working group by January 2021 when the Ethics Charter was finalised and ready for adoption. The experts found that the charter addresses most of the relevant areas and is in line with the European Code of Conduct for research integrity. It is also very much comparable to other charters in different parts of the world. In the meantime, newly appointed Ethics Committee members reviewed the draft, considered it to be of good quality and adopted as such.

The drafting of the Ethics Charter was supported within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey 2019-2022” and its action “Quality education for all” in Montenegro.
