Cultural diversity is often cast in negative terms in current political debate. In reality, diversity has always been a positive prosperity factor for societies.
The Council of Europe is working with over 120 cities in the context of the Intercultural cities programme to ensure public policies do indeed bring about a diversity advantage, and also unite citizens around shared values.
