In a bid to empower individuals with the necessary skills to navigate the complexities of the digital age, the Council of Europe has developed a user-friendly tool aimed at alerting on the challenges facing the user in the online environment in the absence of a proper understanding of the opportunities but also dangers of the digital landscape and of skills and means to counter them.
With the proliferation of online platforms and the rapid spread of information of various types and quality, it is crucial that users are empowered with the necessary skills and tools to make informed decisions and protect their rights online.
As part of the Organisation’s efforts to support the development of media and information literacy among users, the Council of Europe project offers a social media-based quiz tackling online behaviours, in a friendly and interactive style, designed to engage users and enhance their understanding of their digital rights and of possible strategies to enjoy and protect their and others’ rights.
The Council of Europe invites users to participate in the project by doing the quiz and testing themselves. This will not only contribute to greater awareness of one's own online conduct but will, in addition, offer access to additional resources, designed to enable better understanding of the importance of some specific online behaviours such as safeguarding personal information online, avoiding the spread of disinformation, etc.
