Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić today intervened in the high-level segment of the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC) alongside other political leaders from Council of Europe member states and beyond.
The Secretary General highlighted the importance of ensuring public sector integrity to strengthen democracy, and the relevance of GRECO recommendations in this context.
The International Anti-Corruption Conference is a global forum bringing together heads of state, civil society and private sector representatives to tackle the increasingly sophisticated challenges posed by corruption. Established in 1983, the IACC usually takes place every two years in a different region of the world hosting participants from over 140 countries worldwide.
The Secretary General’s agenda in Washington DC included meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, and with senior officials from the United States Administration.
