“Recent developments in Belarus are alarming. I am particularly concerned about the searches and detentions of well-known and respected members of civil society as well as human rights defenders, including partners of the Council of Europe.
A robust civil society is indispensable for any modern democratic state. I call on the Belarusian authorities to stop unjustified attacks and to release all those detained.”
