Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has met the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands Anita Van den Ende. The meeting began with preparations for the Fourth Summit of the Heads of State and Government in Reykjavik (16-17 May), an historic opportunity for reinforcing the commitment to the Organisation’s values.
The exchange of views focused on the Register to record and document evidence and claims of damage, loss, or injury caused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Marija Pejčinović Burić emphasised the relevance of a first concrete decision taken at the international level on the context of ensuring accountability. “Accountability, including for the crime of aggression, is imperative“, underlined the Secretary General. She warmly thanked the Dutch authorities for their availability to host the Register in the Hague.
