Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has met with the European Commissioner for Justice, Didier Reynders. Their meeting focused on Council of Europe-European Union co-operation and the ongoing preparation of the Convention on Artificial Intelligence.
Marija Pejčinović Burić underscored the Organisation’s tradition of pioneering standard-setting and global benchmarking, while emphasising the relevance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for human rights, democracy and the rule of law.
The exchange of views highlighted the complementarity of the European Union “AI Act” and of the future Council of Europe Convention, to develop digital technologies for the good of humanity.
