Secretary General meets San Marino Minister for Foreign Affairs

Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić has met the Minister for Foreign Affairs of San Marino Luca Beccari. The meeting focused on the follow up to the Reykjavik Summit, highlighting the need to respond to new challenges such as artificial intelligence and the impact of climate change and environmental damage on human rights.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the country’s membership in the Organisation, San Marino provided a voluntary contribution to the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, the first and necessary step towards an international compensation mechanism.

Minister Beccari also deposited the instrument of ratification of the amending Protocol (CETS no. 223) to the Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data.

In a ceremony in the presence of the Secretary General, an official gift was presented in the Palais de l’Europe, the Council of Europe’s main building in Strasbourg.
