Strategic priorities, gender equality and youth among highlights of international NGOs General Assembly

The Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations (CINGO) will hold its autumn General Assembly in hybrid format from 14 to 16 October. Meetings will be held in parallel by some of CINGO’s thematic committees and the newly created task force on civic space watch.

The discussion and adoption of the draft Three-Year Strategic Plan (2024-2027) will be one of the highlights of the session. In this context, and in the framework of the Reykjavik process, there will be exchanges of views with Gianluca Esposito, Director General of Human Rights and Rule of Law and with Aoife Nolan, Chairperson of the European Committee of Social Rights.

Other highlights will include:

  • the creation of a new Committee for the European Social Charter and its monitoring mechanisms
  • discussion and possible adoption of new draft strategies on Gender Equality and Youth
  • consideration of a draft Recommendation of CINGO on History Teaching.

Further events will be held on 17 October concerning the youth engagement and to mark the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty.
