During the academic year 2022/2023, 240 school professionals participated to the training programme on Creating a Democratic and Inclusive Learning community.
It was organised through four training days combined with four days of monitoring visits in schools on the topics related to Competences for Democratic Culture and also tackled Bullying as a phenomenon in schools and environmental protection.
Besides building the capacities of school professionals, the schools organised impressive school-based projects involving students which tackled bullying, environment projects and social inclusion. Each school also marked the Diversity Day on 26 April with an activity in school.
The participants considered the training vital for equipping them with the skills to manage diverse classrooms and for creating inclusive environments for every child. Moreover, they became aware of the importance of the diversity as an asset. On the last day, the schools also presented their work plans for the upcoming school year, on how they will use the Competences for Democratic Culture and the knowledge gained as part of their school development plans. The school professionals were also equipped with the necessary resources to support their further work within schools.
The training was organised within the framework of the joint European Union/Council of Europe project “Building Capacity for Inclusion in Education – INCLUDE”.
