Launching of a training of trainers for police officers and labour inspectors from Bosnia and Herzegovina on combating labour trafficking

In order to ensure local ownership and to increase the outreach work on the identification of victims of human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation, the Council of Europe project “Strengthening anti-trafficking action in Bosnia and Herzegovina” launched a training of trainers (ToT) for representatives of police agencies and labour inspectorates who will become certified trainers and transmit knowledge on combating labour trafficking to their peers and institutions.

The first session of the training of trainers took place on 23-24 April in Sarajevo, with fourteen participants from police departments and labour inspectorates at the canton and entities levels. The future trainers were introduced to training materials and resources developed by the project. They also acquired methodological skills to design and carry out training sessions. Successful participants in the ToT will be included in a list of certified, by the project, trainers.

The Council of Europe project “Strengthening anti-trafficking action in Bosnia and Herzegovina”   is implemented in the framework of the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina (2022–2025), funded by voluntary contributions.
