A HELP Training-of-Trainers (ToT) was organised by the Council of Europe, on 19 October, for the academic staff teaching at the newly established Master programme „Law of the Council of Europe “at the Law Faculty of University of Sarajevo.
HELP is the main educational platform of the Council of Europe for legal professionals. Its aim is to train current and future judges, lawyers and prosecutors on human rights standards in Europe.
HELP courses can easily and efficiently supplement the educational materials in the law schools’ curricula. They can also be used by university professors as a complement to their academic programmes.
Therefore, the professors of the Law Faculty, University of Sarajevo, who participated in the ToT were equipped with the necessary practical and methodological skills to effectively oversee and tutor the activities of their law students.
After a general presentation of the HELP Programme and the HELP online platform (hosting over 45 courses available in more than 450 language versions including in Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian), participants were introduced to the basics of the HELP training Methodology and the main duties and expectations of the role of a HELP tutor.
Participants who successfully complete their assignment become HELP Certified Tutors and are added to the roster of certified trainers, which is publicly available on HELP website.
The activity was carried out within the project “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Phase III”.
