Back Council of Europe is enhancing the capacity of judges to apply the European human rights standards

A two-day webinar/training on legal reasoning and legal drafting in civil cases is organised on 9 and 10 December 2020, for 23 first instance judges as part of their initial training. The activity is organised in cooperation with the Judicial and Prosecutorial Training Centres of Republika Srpska and Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In focus of this webinar is to raise awareness of the judges that the court according to the proper administration of justice, must give adequate reason for its legal ruling, which will serve the purpose of demonstrating to the parties that they have been heard and will allow them to exercise their right to appeal, if needed. Additionally, the training explores the obligations of domestic courts regarding the extent and content of the reasoning they provide considering the Article 6. 1 of the European Convention of Human Rights - Right to a Fair Trial.

The training is organised under the project: “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina -Phase II”, funded by the Kingdom of Norway.
