Fourteen representatives of police agencies and inspectorates certified to conduct training on human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation

In order to ensure the continuation of activities related to strengthening of the capacities of professionals through trainings organized by institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and to improve work in the field on the identification of victims of human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation, in line with GRETA recommendations, the Council of Europe project "Strengthening anti-trafficking action in Bosnia and Herzegovina" organised a training of trainers (ToT) for representatives of police agencies and labour inspectorates. Certified trainers will transfer knowledge on combating human trafficking for the purpose of labour exploitation to their colleagues and institutions.

During April and May 2024, enrolled professionals participated in educational sessions dedicated to acquiring knowledge and skills for efficient, structured, and motivating presentations on various topics in the anti-trafficking field. The participants learned about methodology for designing and conducting training. Furthermore, the practical exercises provided an opportunity for participants to test and improve their skills in transferring knowledge to their colleagues and other participants in future trainings. Future trainers were also familiarized with the training materials and resources developed in the framework of the project.

All participants successfully completed the training and are included in a list of certified, by the project, trainers. During the fall of 2024, they will conduct-lead a cascade training for labour inspectors and law enforcement officials on labour trafficking and protocols for cooperation and prevention, detection, and investigation of cases of labour trafficking, which will be organised by the project.

The Council of Europe project “Strengthening anti-trafficking action in Bosnia and Herzegovina”   is implemented in the framework of the Council of Europe’s Action Plan for Bosnia and Herzegovina (2022–2025), funded by voluntary contributions.
