Moot Court Competition for students of the Human Rights Legal Clinic

The Human Rights Legal Clinic in Sarajevo was finalised on 20 December 2019 with a moot court competition. The Clinic was attended by students from the Law Faculty of the University of Sarajevo as an extracurricular activity during the winter semester of the 2019/2020 academic year.

Students spent a semester learning about the Convection system, carried out research and drafting submissions and practicing oral arguments. The Clinic aimed at giving law students, future legal professionals, practical experience on application of the standards of the European Convention on Human Rights and the methodology of the interpretation of case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

The Human Rights Clinic is part of the project: “Initiative for Legal Certainty and Efficient Judiciary in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The project is made possible thanks to the voluntary contribution of the Government of Norway.

Dear visitor,

Thank you for visiting the website of the Council of Europe Office in Sarajevo. Here you will find information about the activities of our Office, as well as links to other information, news and documents relating to the Council of Europe’s work, such as conventions, reports, and recommendations of this Organisation and its various bodies. While most of our texts are in the official languages of our organisation, i.e. English and French, we are determined to provide as much information as possible in the languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has been a member state of the Council of Europe since 2002 and is actively involved in all the aspects of the mission and work of our Organisation. Our Office in Sarajevo contributes to this partnership, by providing support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, its authorities, institutions and people to give practical meaning to the principles of human rights, democracy and the rule of law which are common to all 46 member states of the Council of Europe. I hope that you will find the information here thought-provoking and useful, and would welcome your feedback and suggestions which will be used to further improve our website. You can also follow the activities of our Office on Facebook and Twitter.

Yours sincerely,
