Under the motto “Spectacularly Disobedient”, the fifth Skopje Pride took place with the participation of LGBTI community, human rights activists, civil society, international representatives and citizens of North Macedonia. The Skopje Pride is an annual event happening every June to celebrate love, diversity and raising awareness about the importance of protecting LGBTI rights and bring visibility to the issues which LGBTI persons face.

The Skopje Pride gathered several hundred participants at the park across the Parliament. After keynote speeches by activists, the Pride continued with a march through the streets of Skopje and was concluded with a dance party at the ARM Stadium in the City Park.

Among the other supporters, this year’s Skopje PRIDE was also supported by the action on “Combating Hatred and Intolerance in North Macedonia” as part of the joint EU and Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye” which aims to support North Macedonia’s reforms and compliance with European standards on antidiscrimination and combating hate speech.
