On 14-15 June 2022, the Committee of Experts on the Intercultural Integration of Migrants (ADI-INT) held its first meeting in Strasbourg. Set up in November 2021 by the Committee of Ministers under the Steering Committee on Anti-discrimination, Diversity and Inclusion (CDADI), the ADI-INT takes over the work of the former Working Group on Intercultural Integration, with terms of reference covering the years 2022 to 2025 and a renewed multilevel composition. The latter now comprises also representatives of regional authorities, alongside representatives of Council of Europe member states and of local authorities that are part of the Intercultural Cities programme.
More particularly the ADI-INT is instructed to complete the following deliverables:
- Develop a capacity-building programme and tools for migrant integration supporting the implementation of recommendation CM/Rec(2022)10 on multilevel policies and governance for intercultural integration at national level.
- Prepare a feasibility study and possible new legal and/or benchmarking instrument on comprehensive strategies for inclusion.
