Strengthening reporting sysems on violence against children; Experts discuss implementation of CM recommendation on effective guardianship of unaccompanied and separated migrant children

On 6 September 2023, the Committee of Ministers adopted a new Recommendation to members States on Strengthening reporting systems on violence against children.  The recommendation aims to guide member states in developing, strengthening and monitoring effective national systems for professionals and volunteers for reporting all forms of violence against children, as essential elements of national strategies to combat and prevent violence against children. It  applies to all professionals working in direct or indirect contact with children, including professionals working in migrant reception and border control services. The recommendation as well as its Explanatory memorandum were prepared by the Steering Committee for the Rights of the Child (CDENF).

25 child protection specialists, social assistants, representatives of the General Inspectorate of Migration and international organisations in Republic of Moldova participated in a round table on the implementation of the Recommendation of the Committee of Ministers to member states on the effective guardianship of unaccompanied and separated children in the context of migration and the Memorandum Explanatory. The roundtable was organised within the Council of Europe project “Preventing and protecting children from violence including in the digital environment in the Republic of Moldova
