Summary of the project: Since its inception in 2008, Plymouth Hope has used sports and mainly football as a tool for social cohesion, integration and making an active life and healthy living a reality for asylum seekers, refugees and locals from the poorest area of the city. After successfully delivering many projects over the years, we have reflected on our experience and expertise to address one current major issue which the effective integration of refugees.
We have developed the Sports4Integration programme which constitute of four stages (Welcome & Be Active; Trust; Connect; Futures) , when by each participants has acquire all the right skills , knowledge and support to make integration an integral part of their every day live. The project activities are mainly delivered in Plymouth , United Kingdom. We make sure that every newly dispersed and newly arrived asylum seeker in the city can have access to this programme, therefore benefit from the four stages of this programme. As part of this we have different sessions delivered for youth; women and men.
