The Network of Magistrates/Prosecutors Responsible for Sports (MARS) set up by the Council of Europe, held its first meeting on 25 November 2022 in Strasbourg, France.

This event marks the formal creation of a network of magistrates and prosecutors specialised in sports integrity. The network shall become the international reference body promoting effective investigation and criminal proceedings relating to sports integrity.

The Conference organised on 24 November 2022 with the assistance of Interpol, welcomed representatives from over 25 countries, both in person and online, including from law enforcement agencies, the sports movement, lotteries and the academic world.

Open to the press, this event focused on raising awareness on the latest trends threatening sports integrity with a focus on the manipulation of sports competitions.

Participants discussed the challenges of criminal investigations and prosecutions, emphasising the need to exchange information, best practices and international cooperation. Learn more about our work:
