Back The Monitoring Group of the Anti-doping Convention (T-DO) holds its 56th meeting

More than 80 European experts met for two days to discuss the reinforcement of the fight against doping in Europe.  

The Monitoring Group of the Anti-Doping Convention (T-DO) reviewed the implementation of the Recommendation on fair procedure applicable to anti-doping proceedings in sport, which will be the subject of the Conference on the right to a fair process in anti-doping proceedings, to be held in Riga, Latvia, on 3 October 2023.

It also assessed the progress made in the protection of whistleblowers, and followed-up on the work on anti-doping in recreational sport in the context of the Council of Europe’s pledge on healthy lifestyles and anti-doping policies

The evaluation reports of the visits carried out to IrelandSpainPortugal and Sweden in the winter of 2022 were discussed and will be published in due course. The Monitoring Group adopted new Evaluation Guidelines, making its evaluation process stronger and more efficient .

The Monitoring Group elected, for a two-year term:

  • Chair: Michael Petrou (Cyprus)
  • Vice-Chair: Shafag Huseynli (Azerbaijan)
  • Chair of the Advisory Group on Compliance (T-DO COMP): Michał Rynkowski (Poland)
  • Chair of the Advisory Group on Education (T-DO ED): Erik Duiven (The Netherlands)
  • Chair of the Advisory Group on Legal Issues (T-DO LI): Floriane Cavel (France)
  • Chair of the  Advisory Group on Science (T-DO SCI): Nick Wojek (United Kingdom)

The 57th T-DO meeting will be held in Strasbourg, on 9 and 10 November 2023.
